Verbatim Legal Translation Ltd. stands out from other translation services, due to its formation with a focussed vision to deliver Chines/English translation services, solely to the legal industry.

Verbatim was founded by Ms. Bing Ling. Bing holds an MA in Translation Studies, and is a member of the prestigious Institute of Interpreting and Translation, and Chartered Institute of Linguists.

A Translator and an Interpreter
Ms. Ling is adept an interpreter as she is a translator, and earned her Diploma in Legal Interpreting for Public Services in 2009. She has provided translation and interpretation services for legal clients at the very highest levels of the profession, spending literally hundreds of hours in court, very often working with the UK’s leading law firms. This first-hand experience brings legal insights, which other translators will not have: Verbatim’s knowledge of written translations in a courtroom environment positively impacting our approach to texts.

Bing’s philosophy for translation centres upon attention-to-detail, unwavering levels of accuracy, and supporting her own efforts with other translators, hand-picked for their commitment to the self-same values as herself. Ms. Ling also attained an MBA at Edinburgh Business School in 1999.

In establishing her career, Bing has provided translation and interpreting services for notable entities such as; Iinternational Monetary Fund, the United Nations, the UK Foreign Commonwealth Office.

Trained at Harvard Law School
Mr. William O’Brian brings a wealth of legal experience and expertise to Verbatim. William was trained in law at the world-renowned Harvard Law School, where he attained a Juris Doctor (US law degree). He is currently a Reader at Warwick University Law School.

William’s role at Verbatim Legal Translations Ltd. is to provide deep-level understanding and clarity on often complex legal matters and the language that embodies a broad range of legal concepts.
